Day 141: LR consolidation…
For the past 1 week, I’ve been busy consolidating all my LR’s findings into an MS Excel file, properly and systematically ~ based on Kak Y’s template.
Prior to this I did a lots of mind-mapping for my LR.
It’s useful alright, especially in developing a better understanding of the paper holistically but the thing is when it comes to writing my draft proposal/articles, I have to re-read the paper again.
Hmm, waste of time and energy.
Not good…
Alhamdullilah, by putting everything into one file, it really helps me a lot to manage the LR better – of course, at the same time don’t forget to use End Note to manage your reference. In fact it makes it easier for me to do comparisons between articles. Thanks Kak Y!
Ish, tetiba rasa cam nak start menulis another paper lak
…
Which is exactly what I have in mind, in fact since last week. Planning to write my third article to be presented at a KM conference this upcoming July. Hopefully can get the 1st draft ready by end of next week. I’ve yet to convey my intention to Dr F, but knowing how fond he is with conference/seminars, Insya Allah, should be A ok.
Update: CNovelis kepenatan tak hingat. Mana taknya, dua hari berturut2 bertugas di Karnival Karangkaf 2012. Alhamdulillah, based on feedback from the readers, MSH is getting a lot of traction as days pass by
…
And knowing her, comes tomorrow I’m sure she will be back hitting the keyboards to complete her next novel (editor asyik dok peringat jer, bila nak hantar Cik Ayu ni) …
Day 136: Break…
After spending the whole day yesterday reviewing at least 6 papers, I guess I deserved a break today (alasan semata2 tu). Spent the whole day with the kids watching their fav cartoons and playing Poptropica.
CNovelis was busy with her latest manuscript, hence, a no-disturb zone. Deadline, deadline, huhu…
Oh yes, this Saturday she will be at Karnival Karangkraf for meet and greet session and to promote her latest novel, Mahar Setulus Hati
Went out with Krina late in the afternoon to get some bihun sup from Seksyen’s 6 night market. Unfortunately due to public holidays, not much choices were available. Ended up getting them from Ani Sup Utara @ Seksyen 2 instead…
Update: Received an sms from Pn R requesting me to drop by her office to discuss some matters this coming Thursday. Sure, no prob. Insya Allah, will be there…
Hmm, CNovelis will surely say yes if I ask her to accompany me. For reasons that are still unbeknown to me, she somehow or rather likes to do her dress shopping at MJunction…
Day 132: Taekwondo…
What a week it has been! Seriously, I really salute those who did/are doing their PhD on part time basis for their ability to balance their time between work and study . Kudos to each and every one of you!
Frankly since the 1st day I became a full time student, again, this is the first time I am really looking forward for the weekend. Started off the day by sending the kids to school for their Taekwondo’s class.
It’s their 3rd session this week and we are really glad things are looking quite good. The turnout today was understandably low due to the 1 week extended school break. Still it didn’t dampen Krina n Aqif spirits
And while the two of them were busy punching and kicking, the two of us headed to Tirai Ratus @ Seksyen 3 for our breakie. We found this place by accident last week. The food is great ~ you should try their nasi ayam from lunch
.
After picking up the kids from school @ 10:30 am, we headed to Giant @ Seksyen 13. My bro will be holding a birthday party tomorrow for his daughter (Syaza is one year old already?!) and we needed to find a suitable gift for her. Aqif was suggesting remote control car. Baguih betul, anak abah sorang ni
…
And oh yes before heading back home, CNovelis made a special request; bihun sup for lunch. No prob, I know where to find one ~ Seksyen 19. Memang awesome!
Update: Printed a few articles on critical success factors tonite. After listening to some pep talks from Dr F and Kak Y yesterday, tetiba rasa macam nak pulun je study ni. Errr, sebelum memang dah pulun, tapi errr….
Day 131: A long, long day but…
Aqif was not feeling well today, hence, Krina had the privileged of riding shotgun to school this morning. Due to time constraints, no time to tapau breakie as I got an important meeting @ 9:00 am with one of Dr F’s supervisees, Kak Y regarding one research grant that I’m applying for.
Surprisingly, parking was rather easy today. Most probably due to exam weeks, I reckoned.
By 9:15 am, K, my research colleague who I’m currently assisting with his MSc research arrived for our scheduled meeting with Dr F @ 9:30 am (actually more like a brainstorming session to discuss about the presentation we were going to present to CIDB later in the afternoon). And since Kak Y was running a bit late, decided to join K for the meeting with Dr F first.
Half an hour later, Kak Y arrived for our discussion. The knowledge sharing session was very fruitful and by the end of the meeting, I found myself thanking her profusely for all the valuable knowledge (and a couple of templates) I gained.
To cut the story short, the afternoon meeting with CIDB went according to plan. Love the way how Dr F tackled each question with ease.
By the time we reached Shah Alam, it was already 6:10 pm. Still got some time spared for TT. Went to Seksyen 13 for nasik lemak. While having our delicious meals, Dr F shared with both if us some of his life stories. Awesome stuff! Terus terasa semangat nak abiskan PhD within these 3 years! And terasa segan ya amat lak dengan Dr F secara tiba2…
Before heading back home, made a quick stop at Seksyen 8.
“Bang, burger daging 3, burger ayam double special 1.”
Hehehe, no need to ask for whom that double special was for

Student detained after bomb threat on Facebook
GEORGE TOWN: A 24-year-old university undergraduate was detained for questioning after threatening to bomb Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak’s helicopter in a Facebook posting.
George Town OCPD Asst Comm Gan Kong Meng said the student was brought in to the district police headquarters on Patani Road for questioning at around 1.30pm on Sunday.
“Police are investigating the case under Section 506 of the Penal Code for criminal intimidation. He was earlier picked up at his campus in Nibong Tebal.
“The case is pending further investigations. We will announce if there is any development,” he said when contacted Sunday.
A police report had been lodged at the Jelutong police station against a blog posting which featured a screenshot of the student’s Facebook profile.
In the latest status update on the Facebook profile, it was written najib is coming to our campus…let’s bomb his helicopter…’.
Kalau dulu ~ “Cakap siang pandang-pandang, cakap malam dengar-dengar”.
I guess with the current advancement in IT, it’s just not relevant anymore.
Whatever you post online will come back to haunt you back someday if you’re not xtra careful of what you say…
