Day 171: MIA…

10 days with no entries could either be translated as:

a) I was too busy with my research that prevented any blogging activities to take place, or

b) I sincerely thought I was keeping myself busy with all the research works, which may or may not be the case, huhu…

At the end, I guess the answer lies between a) and b) ….

Btw, I finally completed writing my KMICe 2012 paper with the help from Dr F and Pn R. Ready to be submitted tomorrow. Alhamdulillah.

It wasn’t as easy as I thought it would be when I first mooted the idea to them.

A lot of discussions took place. A few emails were exchanged between the three of us.

After comparing my first draft with the final version, only now I understand what it takes to write an academic paper…

As for now, as much as I would like to write another paper, I’ve to put it aside for a while. Must concentrate in drafting my research proposal. Only 2 more months left to go…

Dr F said I shouldn’t be facing any problem in coming up with the research statement/problem. And I like to think so. But since research itself is evolving and dynamic, nothing is thus certain.

How’s it going?

Day 161: 2nd Draft..

After my KMICe’s paper was discussed at length with Dr F last Tuesday, I spent the last two days rewriting part of the it. Dr F insisted I put some meat into the piece. Which eventually I did, agaknya la, huhu…

Frankly, I’m kinda excited to see how the final draft comes out later.

Tomorrow morning, I’m supposed to send a copy to Dr F for his input and feedback. Once he’s done with it, I shall email it to Pn R for her part. Hopefully the whole thing will be completed by the last week of February as the deadline for the submission is March 1st.

Btw, there’s no abstract phase for this conference. Terus skip ke full paper…

Once I’m done with this paper, I guess I better concentrate on preparing for my proposal defense which is somewhere in May. I’ve mentioned this to Dr F earlier and Alhamdulillah, he already drafted a plan for me.

So for the next 2.5 months or so, kerja menulis jer lah gamaknya…

Note: Remember the universal ink refill that I bought almost 6 weeks ago for RM10?

It hasn’t run out yet!

Day 158: PIT Meeting…

After picking up the kids from school today, I headed straight to BQSM to attend the monthly meeting. A few of my friends were asking me before why am I still active in the committee.

I guess it helps to take my mind off the pressure of studying, huhu…

Apart from that, I get to contribute back to the discipline.

And last but not least, I get the see some familiar faces

I refuse to believe PhD is a lonely journey..

It will become one if you don’t do anything about it.

Day 155: Selesai 1st Draft…

Pergh, two solid days working on the KMICe’s paper.

Alhamdulillah, the first draft is ready for comments and feedback. Planning to show it to Dr F during our unscheduled meeting tomorrow (more about this meeting tergempar later on).

And hopefully after the meeting, I can email a copy to Pn R for her input. Since the deadline is in two weeks time, I guess I should be able to get everything done just in time for submission.

Frankly, I was struggling with this paper though, not like the others prior to it.

During last week discussion, Dr F requested me to up the ante, putting a bit of “meat” into my articles ~ so faham2 sendiri ler, huhu…

Ended up spending the whole day yesterday looking back at all the past articles I’ve analyzed before.

Note: After coming back home from picking up the kids today, noticed a few missed calls on my phone. Lerrr, on silent mode rupanya. Patut ler tak perasan. Anyhow, two of them were from Dr F. Must be important ni…

After calling him back, I was requested to meet him tomorrow morning. Ada projek baru yg menanti, Alhamdulillah …

Day 153: Mini Workshop…

Attended a mini workshop on RMethodology and Qualitative Study conducted by Dr CT @ Seksyen 10 today. The half a-day course went exceptionally well for me.

Now I know little, little about the differences between Research Methodology, Research Philosophy, Research Approach and Research Technique .

Must find a few books on this subject…

Day 152: KMICe 2012

After getting my abstract accepted for AcE-Bs 2012, I’m thinking of writing another paper for KMICe 2012. Lat two years, I attended KMICe 2010 which was held at KTerengganu. This year the organizer decided to go south, JBaharu to be exact.

Mooted the idea to Dr F during our meeting yesterday and Alhamdulillah, I got his approval.

Planned to co-author this paper with Dr F and my mentor, Pn R.

Most likely I’m going to use one of the KM initiative projects that’s currently being used in my opis as a case study.

The due date is March 1st. Hopefully will be able to complete the 1st draft by this Tuesday, Insya Allah before forwarding it to both of them…

AcE-Bs 2012

Alhamdulillah, I received a wonderful news today via email; my paper has been accepted to AcE-Bs 2012 . The conference is scheduled to be held from 16 – 18 July 2012 @ Bangkok.

The deadline for the full paper is on April 26th, 2012.

Hopefully this will be the first of many to come, Insya Allah…
